SWEET AS SUGARCANE, COOL AS AN OCEAN BREEZE!

The small (14 x 22 miles) island country of Barbados has three shorelines that receive surfable waves. North swells pump during the winter months and hit the north side of the island, while the summer brings fun surf to the south coast. The most popular break is world class Soup Bowl on the east side, which is enjoyed year round.

The island's location far out in the Atlantic Ocean allows waves to travel thousands of kilometers on the bottom of the sea to finally unload all the power it developed during its long journey over Barbados' coral reefs. As Barbados is a Coral island, a coral reef stretches all around Barbados' coastline, providing for unlimited surfing conditions all over. No matter whether a swell approaches the island from a northerly or westerly direction or whether it's moving in from the East or the South, Barbados is guaranteed to have surf somewhere along its shores at almost any given day of the year.

Accommodations

We offer accommodations in Bathsheba (soup bowls) in the East and Surfers Point in the South. The type of accommodations range from economical bungalows to nice hotels and can fit just about any travelers needs.

The Cottages in Bathsheba are a favorite of returning surfers from all over the world. Small cottages located away from the tourist scene, above the waves in Bathsheba, the home of Soup Bowls. The cottages here are certainly 'budget' but functional. They are privately owned and offer an opportunity for the hard-core surfer to catch the early morning glass with no driving hassles. Keep in mind that some may not consider these accommodations to be wife/girlfriend/family friendly unless everyone surfs!
